Solvang Restaurant in Solvang, California.

If you haven’t made a stop in the City of Solvang yet, you are most definitely missing out! Not only does this city have charm appeal, but it’s so unique to our state. This town was created because of the Danish influence of the area and still stands today as a tribute to Danish architecture and food. We had the pleasure of stopping by the Solvang Restaurant to learn how they make the famous Aebleskiver (basically a Danish pancake served hot topped with jam and powdered sugar)! This restaurant has survived many decades of change but has not forgotten its roots. Our other favorite items are the sausage platter and the Danish meatballs.

Not to but anyone down, this has nothing to do with danish food beside from aebleskiver.

Little fact for you guys aebleskiver has nothing to with Vikings. Translated it means apple slices and started out as a apple slice dipped in batter and fried. And then for mysterious reason turn in to those round balls with a piece of apple inside them. And then again a mystery happened and the apple piece disappeared, nobody know where it went, we are still looking for it. So today we a left with a little ball of batter called a apple slice, that has never seen a apple.

Folklore is good. Don’t change the story. Sometimes a little bit of mystery, a little bit of romance and exaggeration can be a good thing. This is not the same as lying or stretching the truth. We need a little fantasy in this cruel, mixed-up world.
