We were travelling from Calicut (Kozhikode) to Kochi and stopped at Kottakkal Coal House for trying this special non-veg platter that they named as Ebbin's Special Non-Veg Platter.

Coal house is a BBQ restaurant in Kottakkal which is one of it's kind in this area. Well marinated fish and meat on charcoal to serve wonderful arabian and north african grills served with Indian (also arabian) breads including tandoori roti, aloo paratha, and nan will surely pull you back to this restaurant. In fact, it was my second visit and during our first visit we had enjoyed their green chilli chicken grill with Sujith Bhakthan of Tech Travel Eat.
They did not have a platter until I asked for one. So, the first platter of Coal House Restaurant Kottakkal is a plate full of chicken grills and fish grill with aloo paratha; all handpicked by me for satisfying my own desire.
Ebbin's Special Non-Veg platter will cost you Rs. 688.00 and can serve two people. It also includes two mint lime juices.
Coal House. Nameil thane ellam indu. One of the best BBQ i ever had in my life was from here… quality food and service … must try it ?

Dear Ebbin, you look exactly like my friend Stephen Thankachan ( he was my college and university classmate). Would love to try Ebbin’s platter but unfortunately I am so far away. Have to take 18 hour flight. How come there’s no steak? From an Indian American malayali from USA ??

We had barbecue wings as starter and Hamoor fish barbecue along with butter naan from Coal House it was great ??? and exceeded our expectations.
